Fake Quota Warnings
There were some fake QUOTA WARNING spam
messages delivered this past week. It's very important NOT to
click any links inside of these quota warning messages. PCS
does send quota warnings, but ours do not include links and threats
to turn off your accounts.
If you receive a quota warning
and are unsure whether it is legitimate or not, please contact us
via email or phone before clicking any links.
We WILL NEVER
ASK FOR YOUR EMAIL PASSWORD under any circumstances, any email you
receive claiming to be from ANYONE that asks for your passwords
should be immediately deleted.
If you have clicked on one of
these links and sent over your information to the spammers, please
call us immediately so that we can help you change your password. 641-683-6200

only locally owned and operated internet provider.
Email Security Update PCS is recommending
customers take advantage of additional security features of our
email servers for better protection from spammers and phishers.
We have installed a new SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate
on the email and webmail servers, this allows you to connect and
know that nobody else can eavesdrop on your email. This encrypts all
data sent between your computer and our mail server.
Some
customers are receiving errors when trying to access the webmail
server. This is caused by DNS not being fully updated on all servers
around the world yet. If you are experiencing an error you can
temporarily use
http://webmail.pcsia.net to access webmail. By the first of the
week all updates should be propagated across the internet and you
can use your existing
https://webmail.pcsia.net shortcuts. If you have any old
existing bookmark/favorite please update those as soon as you can.
For Jumpgate customers who used to access their email via
http://mail.jumpgate.net you will need to update your bookmarks to
https://webmail.pcsia.net. This does not affect your login just the
way you connect to the servers.
If you have any questions,
please contact support at 641-683-6200 or if you have access to
email, please feel free to email us at support@pcsia.net
Details on implementing additional security features will be
communicated over the next few months as well. Monitor your email
and our home page for additional information.
Thanks,
PCS Internet
